Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She founded The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece and moved to England at age sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. In her 21st year, she was head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student who was elected to this position. Being a conservative syndicated blog when she graduated, she was able to be the voice of Huffington Post. The fame she gained allowed her to persuade a number of celebrities to contribute their opinion about current affairs, culture and politics. Arianna gained fame after she decided to stand as an independent Candidate for the California Recall Election to replace the former governor Davis. Arianna was also part of a Detroit-based project that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes identified her as the most influential female in the media industry in 2009. She ranked at 12th place on their listing. The Guardian also included her to the top 100 list of media outlets in the year 2009. In 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many then-existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos who was a journalist and management consultant. Though she shared a close relationship with her mother and father and father, it was their relationship that shaped her. From her early years, she displayed leadership qualities that are still highly regarded. She moved to England at sixteen to further her studies and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the debate societies in the college where she eventually became its first foreign and female president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master's in Economics. After her graduation she became a columnist, critic and TV host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
