Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She's written 15 books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she relocated to England at the age of 16 and completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. At 21 she became president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. As a conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she became an influential voice for the Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna has led to the attraction of many well-known contributors for posting their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she decided to contest as an independent candidate for the California recall vote to succeed then Governor Davis. She was also involved in a Detroit-based project that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top female media personality, taking the 12th position on their list. The same year, the Guardian named her to the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her president of the media group that also includes additional AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos who was a journalist and management consultant. Although she had a close friendship with her mother and father and father, it was their relationship which shaped her. She displayed leadership qualities even in her early years. At the age of 16, she moved to Britain to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first woman and the sole foreign president. In 1972, she earned the degree of Master in Economics. Her professional career as TV host and journalist began after she graduated. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She started writing books, taking his help in editing.
